What is cricket first class?

Cricket first-class is the most prestigious form of domestic cricket played in several countries such as Australia, England, India, and South Africa. The first-class format is traditionally a four-day match where each side gets two innings to bat and bowl.

The game is played with a red ball, on a pitch that is 22-yards long and 10-feet wide. The objective of the match is to score more runs than the opposition by hitting the ball and running between the wickets or hitting the ball over the boundary.

Teams that play first-class cricket consist of professional and semi-professional players, and the games are organized by the respective cricket boards in each country. Players who perform well in first-class cricket are usually considered for selection for their country's international cricket team.

First-class cricket has been played since the 19th century and is still considered the traditional form of cricket. It is regarded as a test of a player's skills, technique, patience, and temperament. Many legendary cricketers have made their careers by performing well in first-class cricket, including Don Bradman, Sachin Tendulkar, and Sir Vivian Richards.
